The court has the right to suspend or restrict your driver's license for up to 180 days. The Michigan Secretary of State also imposes a Driver Responsibility Fee, which is separate from your fine and courts costs, of $1,000 a year for two years. If you don't pay this fee, your driver's license will be suspended.
